Modern Chic Vogue Nursery

On Vouge.com I could not take my eyes off of Laura and Diego Garcia's Upper East Side adobe. I was impressed by their fabulous, modern nursery for their daughter Georgina. My sister and brother-in-law are moving to Florida tomorrow from New York City with their new baby Gaia. They want me to design their residence "Hampton's style with a modern twist." I cannot wait to design a funky, fun nursery. I plan to go beyond the traditional baby pink look, incorporating wild colors, unique wall decor, an elegant, oversized chandelier and a touch of whimsy, my signature look.

The Diego's, a rock star and fashion designer duo, really rocked out on their daughter's nursery. "I tried to make it fit into the rest of the apartment while still staying girly. I painted it light gray, but I hung this hot-pink painting of Elizabeth Taylor by Russell Young," Laura said. I love the tribute to Elizabeth Taylor - she is a legacy. The nursery is glamourous and dramatic. The bookshelves are a wonderful added interest. I cannot wait to design Ms. Gaia's nursery!
