Lords South Beach

Located in the heart of South Beach on Collins Avenue, Lords South Beach is the first gay hotel brand to open in the United States. It is fun, posh, friendly and affordable. With bohemian rooms, fun-spirited dining and ultra-hot spots, this hotel is sexy and chic. It raises the bar for the discerning gay traveler with its 54 high-fashion rooms, three plunge pools and a variety of exciting hotel venues.

The in-the-house dining room, Cha Cha Rooster,  is like a bonfire disco party. The Cha Cha Cabana keeps sun-worshipers and swimmers hydrated and happy, and The Porch is the ideal spot for socializing and enjoying cocktails with friends.

Bookcase Door Systems - Solution to NYC Wall Law

As New York City aggressively enforces a long existent but widely ignored code, walls are falling in Manhattan. Many apartment buildings have restricted renters from creating a second bedroom, which has impacted roomate sharers. This has severely altered the housing landscape for many young professionals.

I recently came across a genius solution - bookcase door systems! Woodfold bookcase doors are attractive and extremely functional. These systems offer space saving options for closets, home offices or hidden rooms. Built strong with durable Furniture Grade plywood, it is extremely easy to open and close. What a great idea!

Wallpaper Made from Stone - Introducing StoneGround!

Trove recently debuted StoneGround - a collection of paper-thin stone wallcoverings. Manufacturers have been trying to create stone or ceramic walls for years without major renovations, but it seemed near impossible. Trove has done it! The wallpapers are waterproof, rip resistant and made from stone.

How do they do it? The company grinds down marble and limestone into powder, and non toxic resin acts as the base to which the powder bonds. They use a sprayer to create a variety of colors and patterns. The result is pure bliss.

Aaron Ruell's Interiors

Napoleon Dynamite is a classic! If you have seen the movie, you know Napoleon's nerdy older brother Kip who chats with voluptuous girlfriend LaFawnduh via the internet.

I recently found out that Aaron Ruell, who plays Kip in the movie, is an extremely talented photographer with a funny and awkward perspective on interiors. His interior photographs feature unique flocked patterns, glittery wallpapers or even rough hewn logs. I am attracted to the symmetry in his images and appreciate his quirky approach.
