Christine Originals

Browsing through the NYIGF led me to Christine Originals. Christine focuses on the design and creation of miniature dioramas. Her inspiration comes from vintage photographs and personal memories from her life experiences. Her shadow boxes particularly caught my attention. The enclosed cases featured many different scenes and objects. The vignettes were delicate and thought-provoking. Here are some of her pieces I love:

One of the shadow boxes was filled with colorful pencils. Something as simple as pencils arranged in a fun way creates such beautiful art!

Made Goods - Shell Mirror Chic

Made Goods always seems to amaze me. The company produces special and unusual products...(I always seem to drool over extremely odd finds). Each piece of Made Goods' line is hand-crafted by traditional artisans from all around the globe.

Mirrors are one of Made Goods' central focuses. Shell mirrors have become increasingly popular, but I have not yet seen shell mirrors like this before. The colors and quality of its shell pieces are to die for.

Metalace - The Art of Lace on Metal

One source that totally caught my eye at the NYIGF 2011 was Metalace. I have never seen such extraordinary table top accessories - the art of lace on metal. The unique picture frames, serveware and flower canisters blew my mind. Metalace objects reflect the desire to a personal touch for hand made old cutting edge art design products.

Metalace platters, coasters, chargers, bath sets, candle holders - you name it! All metal products were uniquely woven in a lace-like manner. Love, love, love!

New York International Gift Fair 2011

This was a very busy week, yet an ultra fabulous one indeed - the New York International Gift Fair 2011! This trade-only event showcased the very best home and lifestyle collections.

The first booth I spotted at the Javits Centre was none other than Jonathan Adler. What a great start - colorful, contemporary and creative collections! His brand new Santorini collection was a favorite of mine. I love his beautiful teal-glazed porcelain vases, boxes and bowls from this collection. Totally chic!

Kimmy K's Fairytale Weekend Begins

Well, well, well...it is only hours until Kim Kardashian ties the knot with future husband Kris Humphries! The wedding will take place this evening; I cannot wait for pictures to be released (hopefully on Sunday!) From the wedding decor to the dress to the A-list attendees, I am super excited to see images of this Hollywood royalty wedding.

Here are aerial views of the stunning private estate in Montecito, California where the venue will take place. A giant roof erected over a huge stage - fabulous!

Thursday was Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' rehearsal dinner. The romantic and emotional event took place at Scarpetta inside the Montage Beverly Hills hotel. The celebration was said to be low-key. Kim rocked a short, simple white dress.

Trunk-a-dunk-dunk

Trunks bring a whole new meaning to design. Voyager trunk designs being vintage sophistication to any space. Modern or traditional, I love this rustic yet refined look. I love trunks of lucite, wicker, metal or wood.

My favorite way to showcase trunks are at the foot of a bed, serving as a bench and storage. Trunks in place of traditional side tables is also a chic option. Let your mind run wild, I have seen trunks used as coffee tables, consoles and even television stands! Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn have some inexpensive and fun trunks. Oh, and the best part, trunks hide your junk!

Kelly Green Machine

I am loving Kelly Green interiors paired with gold and black. I have repetitively seen this color palette, and there is something so regal and sexy about this look. Kelly Green is lush and refreshing!

Personally, I feel that green is a neutral color. This may sound silly, but green surrounds us everywhere. After all, most of nature is greenery. The color is cool, relaxing and elegant. Green paired with yellow, colors analogous on the color wheel, is easy on the eye and makes for a harmonious space. With the perfect Kelly Green color, you can make a space pop!

Ship-tastic

Feeling shipwrecked? Well never fear because there is only smooth sailing ahead!

Lately I have seen roped up furniture everywhere. I love this rugged yet refined look. What a great way to introduce a unique texture to your living space! The nautical theme is elegant and effortless looking.
