Royal Decor for the Royal Wedding

I am so excited to watch the Royal Wedding! I cannot wait to witness Prince William and Catherine Middleton say their "I Do's!"

Launched exclusively this spring to celebrate the royal wedding, Graham & Brown designed Crowns and Coronets, a wallpaper design featuring a "right Royal riot of regalia." The wallpaper designed specifically for this big event features black crowns and coronets on a white background. The fun part - you can add self-adhesive jewels in a variety of colors to add a bit of glitz!

I also love Naked Decor's Royal-Themed Pillows. The pillows are charming and fun, and they truly capture the essence of the Royal Wedding.

The Royal Wedding will take place at Westminster Abbey in London, and the official dinner will take place at Buckingham Palace.

Here are some photographs of the classic and elegant interiors. Royal Interior Inspiration:

Donald J. Pliner's Smurf-Colored Miami Mansion for Sale

To smurf or not to smurf? That is the question.

Is blue your color? Well if it is, perhaps you are interested in purchasing shoe designer Donald J. Pliner's smurf-colored Miami mansion. On the market for a mere $24 million, the 10,000 square-foot pad sits on Miami Beach's famous Star Island. Celebrities including Shaquille O'Neal, Rosie O'Donnell, Madonna, Alex Rodriguez and P. Diddy have all lived here at some point.

Pliner's extravagant blue pad sits on 100 feet of waterfront and has a dock and large swimming pool. The mansion has parking for 15 and hand-painted murals throughout. It is not my style, but it is very different and fun for the right client.

Lilly Pulitzer's Furniture Line Launches Summer 2011

It's time for preppy furniture to enter the interior design world! Today I discovered that ultra preppy fashion designer Lilly Pulitzer is launching a furniture collection this summer. The 200 piece furniture line debuted at the fall International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, N.C.

The collection will include traditional and midcentury shapes for the bedroom, dining room and living room. The casegoods will have Palm Beach white finishes, mahogany veneers, woven materials and colorful lacquers. There is no surprise that the palette is bright and cheery with clean lines.

Here are some select pieces I love:

Name Design Studio's Patchwork Furniture

I recently discovered Name Design Studio. The company was established in 2010 in Istanbul, Turkey by Thai interior architect Jo Supara Tarakci. The designer takes antique and vintage furniture pieces and gives them a unique and modern twist. He specializes in funky patchwork furniture.

From sofas to chairs, all of the creations are exciting and colorful with a touch of whimsy. The fabrics give a modern yet classic feel. The pieces are brilliant! I want them all!

Passover Decor

Passover! There is no holiday centered so much on the food and how it is presented, so let the food be the main focal point at your dinner. Use white tablecloths and add accent colors with brightly colored flowers, ribbon or a colorful seder plate. Color for spring is bright and festive; don't be afriad to add whimsy with bold pink or green napkin rings.

You can create a dressy, more traditional look with gold or silver. From the seder plate to the matzoh cover to Elijah's cup, Passover allows for the art of table setting. Cover the Haggadah or book of prayers in decorative paper. Add place cards for an extra special touch! Happy Pesach Seekers!

Here are some wonderful Passover items to purchase:

Maya Romanoff's New Showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart

I recently discovered textile designer Maya Romanoff at the Donghia Showroom in the Design Center of the Americas. I was enthralled by his use of exciting textures and materials used to create wallcoverings.

Maya Romanoff began his business in 1969 selling tie-dyed shirts at Woodstock. Elton John was among many celebrities that wore his clothes. It wasn't until the 1970's that he experimented with wall and floor coverings.

His Abacadazzle collection is a favorite of mine; it is made from abaca plant fibers woven with metallic threads. Another collection that is absolutely stunning is the Mother of Pearl line; it is made with hand-made inlaid shells.

I am excited to hear about Maya Romanoff's flagship store that recently opened in the Chicago Merchandise Mart. I was born in Chicago and plan to visit in the near future. I cannot wait to check it out!
